Is registry repair software safe to use ?

It is understandable that many people are concerned about the safety aspect of downloading, installing and running software on their PC, particularly when they are experiencing problems with their PC already.

The truth is, registry repair software is NOT always safe. The deciding factor in whether the software of choice is safe to use depends on these three aspects:

1. Does the software come from a reliable source?

It's no suprise that downloading the full version of a peice of software that claims to do the job of well known software at $40+, is a recipe for disaster.

Sure, the best registry repair software will come with a free trial, but you can't get the full picnic for free...life doesn't work that way. A trial is to prove that it works, any website offering you the full package for free is to be avoided purely for safety reasons. There's every chance you'll not only be downloading their "free" software, but all of their bugs, trojan horses, spyware and other nasty viruses.

On the other hand, you might find a small time, cheapish software that does the basic job of registry repair. But what happens when it fails? Is there anyone to provide customer support? Remember, you get what you pay for.

In other cases, you'll find cheaper registry repair software is created to lure you into a long sales funnel, which at the other end sees you getting hit with emails about their "latest and greatest" upgrades, which cost twice as much as any good, reliable registry repair tool on the market. 

2. Does the registry repair software provide backups and restore points?

One thing you must make sure is that whatever registry repair cleaner you use, that it automatically creates backup and restore points. If your registry gets turned upside down and there's no backup or restore point...well, you can kiss goodbye to any software you had bought, any work you had saved on your PC...not a pretty thought.

3. Is there real customer support available?

Even the best registry fixer may encounter an error or internal problem from time to time. Or pehaps there's something you don't understand or would like to know more about when using a registry repair kit. Without support, it's a painful and hair pulling experience.
